Fees & Policies
Do you take insurance?
BIG Feelings Inc. is an out of network provider for all insurance plans. We do not accept payment directly from any insurance company. Families are responsible for appointment fees at time of appointment. Upon request, we can provide you with a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for any potential reimbursement.
Please check your coverage very carefully by asking the following questions of your insurance provider:
Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
What is the coverage amount and co-pay/co-insurance fee per therapy session?
Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
What are the fees per session?
$200 for 45 minute individual or parent only session
$300 for parent only intake and for 60 minute sessions
$85 for 45 - 60 minute social skills play group sessions
Letter writing and phone calls are charged in either half or full session increments. School visit costs vary depending on the time and travel involved. Should there be a fee different than the regular session fee for a school visit, this will be communicated before the visit occurs.
I accept credit and debit cards for payment of session fees. The fees will be charged at the end of a session.
Cancellation/No show/Late arrival policy
If you are unable to keep an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible by sending an email or text, leaving a voicemail message or canceling online via Therapy Appointment. Because your appointment time is reserved for you, you will be charged the full fee for the session, unless you cancel 24 hours in advance.
If you are going to more than 5 minutes late to an appointment, please reach out via email or text to let us know. If you are late for your appointment, you will be seen for the remaining appointment time and will be charged the full appointment fee.
Good Faith Estimate information
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
By law, health care providers must give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you are charged at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
